you don't have a job.. so your a bum like me who looks at the want ads in the states and can't get a job there even though you know more about social media than most.. depressing isn't it.. me.. I am trying to build social branding apps but India depresses me.. the skill level there just isn't what it needs to be.. part of it is don't speak the same language.. you know programmers speak a different language.. too many ideas... and a painful realization that I need to know code.. still I have this 17teen year old in Sweden helping me out.. You know how trust is the hardest part.. so I got him making me a simple satire site called blowmeworld... it is funny how you were able to create a large twitter following.. me I have 11 youtube channels.. 712 is the highest sub rate..50 is the lowest just doing video responses..15 videos for revenue sharing.. I am more of a youtube fan than a twitter.. I did it so I could understand branding..

how come someone who also believes in social branding doesn't just build his own site..or apps... you are like an artist

Hi @igebadia,

Well, not quite. So far in my job hunt I've been having pretty good results. A few conversations that have led to meetings and interviews. In fact I have a couple of interviews next week. One of which is with a PR agency in central London and is looking very exciting!

I'm a lazy web guy so I don't trawl through the ads looking for jobs, I subscribe to relevant RSS feeds and the jobs come to my inbox. Two particular sites that have proven fruitful thus far are:
http://jobs.guardian.co.uk/
http://jobs.telegraph.co.uk/

Sure I "get" all this branding and social media stuff better than most but for now I feel that working with other creative minds in an already successful firm would be better for me right now than going it alone. One thing that's certain is that the economic climate is pretty damn scary right now and I'm a geek, not an accountant!

Get yourself signed up to a few RSS feeds, build a targeted resume and apply to everything that is relevant to what you can/want to do. You've already got plenty of Google juice going on so the "right" prospective employer will see all that and be all over you like Marmite on toast.

I used "Marmite" for a reason. We social media nerds are a bit like Marmite, you either love us or hate us!

You'll be OK. Trust me, I know stuff. :)

Good luck!
