Look What I Found In My Inbox

Many moons ago I used to write demo songs for FL Studio.  If you don't know it, it is an audio production suite and virtual studio.  This means I very often find "remixes" of my demos in my inbox.  I use the term remix loosely because more often than not, there is so little difference from the original that it can hardly be called a remix.

It's not all rubbish though, sometimes there is a glimmer of hope.  In my inbox today I found a remix of Tzachitx by Chris Parsons entitled Just Leaving Town.   It isn't perfect, of course, nothing is...  But you can clearly hear that a bit of heart, soul and effort went into it.

Good work, Chris.  I salute you.

Yeah, I'm actually part of a small community full of people who use the term "remix" quite loosely...

I've reported a few people who have stolen your demo songs actually. It's a shame that you haven't made something in awhile though.

^copy-pasted from my post on the wrong blog lol

Yes but you're one of the few honest ones like this guy... Makes a BIG difference.

Actually it's surprising how many people do report these things back to me and it's even more surprising how often it happens! Usually the ones passing my music off as their own get busted pretty quickly.

As for not having made anything in a while... You're right. It's a massive shame. I probably miss it more than anyone. It's not over yet though. I am currently (very slowly) rebuilding my studio. I have a Windows PC again... Which is all I need really but I do plan to build a few bits around it and get back into it again. I'm thinking 2009 might see a few new tunes...

Yeah, I can only imagine how many people try and rip your stuff off. I was talking to Toby Emerson about that awhile ago also... Happens more than it should.

Oh! and guess what? I hear that trance will be popular in 2009..... ( no rly, I'm gonna keep bugging you about now ).

Anyways, back on topic, I think that Chris did a pretty good job!

Would you be happy if I threw you some unreleased (unfinished too but not awful) trance of mine from way back?

I would be happy with anything :)

Haha, I would be! (but you should finish it!) Either way, it'd be pretty cool.

And just as a joke or something like that, you should put something similar to that demo song you mixed for Tone, FL Propaganda or something like that.
